General Information
The Life
of the wind turbines:
The estimated life is a minimum of 20 years. However, this is based
on a regular maintenance schedule.
Maintenance
Depending upon the size of the windfarm, a maintenance contract
has to be made either with a service company nearby, or with the
EC.
It is advisable to consider a windfarm of more than 30 turbines
if you intend to employ your own maintenance team. (2 persons).
Investment
costs (rough estimate only)
A windturbine with a capacity of 750 kW will cost about DM 1.2 Mio.
f.o.b., based on a German seaport, plus cost for:
- infrastructure development;
- foundations,
- freight;
- transport from harbour to windfarm;
- cranes (1 x 300 - 400 tonnes and 1x60 tonnes,
based on a hubheight of approximately 60 m);
- erection and other contractors costs;
- sub-station(s), cabling and grid connection
(A windfarm of > 20 windturbines usually requires its own sub-station.
A substation for 20 turbines of 750 kW each will cost about DM
2.5 Mio. f.o.b., a substation for 80 turbines about DM 5.0 Mio.
f. o.b.)
- commissioning,
- maintenance.
